John Updike, 1932-2009.

Chronicler of the Middle America in the second half of the twentieth century. Here is an audio of Updike, expressing concerns about the transformation of the written word on paper to infinitely permutable ensembles of electrons.

Updike was not a favorite of mine but he certainly had talent. Actually, I visited here first time following "flyfishing" interests. When I stumble into "conservative" commentary, I'm usually appaled. Not so much this time as I found some thoughtfull posts. Thanks for sharing
